Combined polar display of responses and resonance zones. The speed of the vessel is plotted on the radius of the polar diagram. The point of the speed vector indicates the operating point
of the ship. The diagram displays as a function of speed and heading in color the level of one response,
or the envelope maximum of a combination of responses.
An alarm is given to indicate exceed of one or more response criteria or risk for resonance at the actual combination of speed and heading.
The resonance zones are constructed real-time according to the German SBG-guidelines for stability and can be applied as substitute for onboard paperwork.
