  1. Q: When I install Seaway version 5.1, I cannot find the hull forms.
    A: Download the file Hull forms.zip and unzip the files in the folder "\Octopus\Hull Forms".

  2. Q: How can I use the charts in OCTOPUS?
    A: Download the file Charts.zip and unzip the files in the folder "\Octopus\Charts".

  3. Q: If I modify any hull in the data base and save it with a different name, then I cannot open the newly saved file: there appears an error #153. What should I do?
    A: The system should have a point as decimal symbol, and a comma as digit grouping symbol.
    This can be changed in the Control Panel, item Regianal and Language options.

  4. Q: The application can no longer find the dongle after installing Windows XP Service Pack 2 on the system containing the dongle. What should I do?
    A: You must open the port for the dongle.
    On the system containing the dongle, go to the Security Center (Start - Control Panel) select Windows Firewall. Select Tab Exeptions and click Add Port... Enter a name, for example "Rainbow Dongle" and enter Port number "6001" and select UDP. Close the dialogs with OK.

  5. Q: NMEA is interfering with the mouse device. What should I do?
    A: To avoid interfering with the mouse device follow the next steps:
    1. With the 'registry editor' locate the key: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\<root>\*PNP0501\<port>]
      Depending on the hardware configuration <root> and <port> can have different names.
    2. Locate the com port that is interfering with the mouse device.
      (Look for the key [DeviceDesc])
    3. Locate the key [Device Parameters] and add the following value:
      Value Name: SkipEnumerations
      Value Type: DWORD
      Value Data: FFFFFFFF (HEX)
